The Harrisburg City Planning Commission met on November 4, 2026. The Commission approved a special-exception application and related land-development plan for a two-story mixed-use building at 415 Schuylkill Street, with a first-floor coffee shop/café and two upper-floor apartments. Conditions included pursuing City Council approval of the land-development plan, retaining mature trees where feasible, and considering patio seating. The Commission also approved a land-development plan to convert the historic office buildings at 401 North 2nd Street into seven apartments, conditioned on historic-preservation review of exterior changes and consideration of a tree pit on South Street. Members discussed the possibility of reserving spaces in a nearby parking garage; no contract or spending approval was reported.

The Commission reviewed, but did not vote on, a sketch plan for 1321 North Cameron Street proposing affordable housing for homeless veterans alongside a market, café, offices, and community space. Discussion focused on floodplain requirements, demolition and rebuilding, site access, and whether rezoning or zoning relief would be needed; the applicant said grant applications were underway and anticipated construction completion in late 2028 or early 2029. Staff and the applicant planned further discussion. Other business included possible digital or hybrid meeting packets, future review of zoning and subdivision regulations, and a resident’s request for local data-center regulations; no related policy action was taken. No procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified.
