The Douglas County Joint Planning and Zoning Board and Board of Commissioners meeting on November 4, 2026, addressed land-use and zoning applications; no procurement activity, contract awards, or government spending decisions were identified. The commissioners denied the rezoning for a 5,000-square-foot commercial building on Veterans Memorial Highway, the rezoning and special use permit for a battery-storage facility on Brewer Road (4–1 each), and the residential-care-facility permit (4–1). They also denied a future-land-use amendment and rezoning for a proposed 21-home subdivision near Maple Way and John West Road (4–1 each), following residents’ concerns about quarry blasting, drainage, and traffic.

The commissioners approved the light-industrial zoning cleanup and automotive-repair special use permit on Veterans Memorial Highway, with conditions; approved a warehouse and outdoor-storage permit on Johnbelt Drive (4–1), including a 75-foot buffer and a 24-month period to make progress toward a land-disturbance permit; and approved five short-term-rental permits. One rental permit was approved 3–2 after a neighbor raised concerns about noise and prior activity, while the other four were approved unanimously; the permit at Windmill Trace included a no-street-parking condition. The Michael Byron application was withdrawn and rescheduled for December 1.
