The Waukee City Council’s November 2, 2026 regular meeting included several economic-development and land-use actions. The council approved Amendment No. 11 to the consolidated urban renewal plan and adopted the Kettlestone Lakes District 2 urban renewal plan. It also approved the first reading of an ordinance establishing tax-increment financing (TIF) for District 2, and approved the final reading of an ordinance covering additional parcels in the consolidated urban renewal area. Staff said the new District 2 area covers about 20 acres and could support future development; establishing the plans and TIF districts does not commit the city to particular development agreements or incentives. No specific dollar amounts were stated.

The council also approved site and subdivision plans, including temporary support facilities and access changes at a data-center site, a roughly 36,000-square-foot multi-tenant flex building, and a 13-lot residential plat. During open forum, a local soccer organization asked to explore partnering with the city on a public mini-pitch; no action was taken. No contract awards, vendor selections, or other direct procurement activity were identified.
