The Washoe County Planning Commission meeting on November 4, 2026, considered three public-hearing items; no procurement, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified. The commission unanimously approved a partial abandonment of Washoe County’s interest in easements near 3400 Genoa Way: the eastern and southern easements will be abandoned, and the northern easement reduced from 33 feet to 20 feet. It also unanimously approved an amendment to Sage Ridge School’s special use permit to allow kindergarten through grade 12, with the existing 600-student maximum unchanged and no construction proposed.

The commission recommended approval, by a 4–2 vote, of a development code amendment requiring Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment members to take a leave of absence while running for Washoe County Commission. The proposal also updates department names and removes an obsolete provision; a motion to recommend denial failed before the approval motion passed. Staff agreed to provide a future briefing or memo on how cluster-development density calculations treat undevelopable land. Commissioners also received updates on matters scheduled for County Commission review and pending court challenges.
