The City of Shakopee’s Board of Adjustment and Appeals and Planning Commission met on November 5, 2026. The Board approved a 180-day extension of the conditional use permit for a proposed 40-unit assisted living facility at 8205 Crossing Boulevard. Following a public hearing, it unanimously approved Resolution PC 2026-21, allowing front and rear setbacks of 20 feet instead of the required 30 feet for a proposed three-unit rental building at 136 Namkeg Street. The approval includes a condition requiring a privacy fence along the western property line; landscaping and other site requirements will be reviewed during permitting. No contract awards, vendor selections, or purchasing actions were identified.
The Planning Commission unanimously recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution R2026-155, approving an update to the Southern Shakopee Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) and its mitigation measures. The approximately 435-acre study area’s development framework anticipates primarily single-family housing; Arbor Bluff has 194 lots across three phases, with roads, a traffic signal, water and sewer extensions, and open-space trails among improvements completed or underway. The update is scheduled to go to the City Council on November 17. No procurement activity was identified in this discussion.
