**Body:** Camden County Board of Commissioners

At the November 3, 2026 regular meeting of the Camden County Board of Commissioners, the Solid Waste Authority reviewed an RFP for residential curbside garbage and recycling services. Staff recommended Meridian Waste from three proposals. The authority approved the award with the subscription-based recycling option: weekly garbage collection, biweekly recycling, and 95-gallon carts, with service slated to begin July 1, 2027, under a contract structure of annual renewals for up to five years. The approved motion excluded a discounted rate for 24,000 tons of out-of-county waste, which would instead be charged at out-of-county rates. No total contract value was stated; the discussion cited $395 per haul for a possible drop-off option and a current recycling charge of about $75 per quarter.

The board extended the temporary data-center moratorium by nine months, rather than the one-year period in the initial motion, to allow more time for ordinance development and public input. Commissioners also discussed remaining ARPA funds, including possible spending on a well, soccer-complex costs, or benches and picnic tables, but deferred the decision pending updated financial accounting; the funds must be addressed before the December 31 deadline. The board set a tentative 13-mill property-tax rate for advertisement and upcoming public hearings. No other major purchasing decision was identified.
