The Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission met on November 4, 2026, to review historic-district applications and enforcement matters. The commission approved revised, non-illuminated engraved signs for the Salty Crown at 547 Main Street by 7–0, approved an A-frame sign for Belonging Books with the condition that it be brought inside nightly (6 votes in favor, 1 abstention), and approved a lighthouse-style cupola replacement for the maritime museum at 428 Main Street (6 in favor, 1 recusal). A signage application for the Residences at Hyannis Harbor was continued so the applicant could submit a complete application and revise material and finish details.
The commission continued the Hyannis Public Library’s request to replace a removed stone walkway with stamped concrete until November 18, voting 7–0. Members emphasized retaining the historic stone appearance and requested a physical sample for review; the architect said the replacement would be an added cost, but no amount was provided. No contract awards, bids, or purchasing decisions were identified. A possible $379,000 grant or funding item related to preliminary design was raised during enforcement discussion, and staff agreed to follow up; no funding action was taken.
