The City of Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board met on November 4, 2026. The board unanimously approved a Certificate of Appropriateness for a 203-square-foot addition at 714 Northeast 2nd Avenue, subject to staff and the applicant exploring options for the south-façade windows and the fence and gate being painted a consistent color. The board also unanimously recommended that the City Commission add the historic section of Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Municipal Cemetery to the local register of historic places. Staff described a prior $50,000 grant-funded cemetery study, including $18,000 from a federal program, and said Oneida LG2 environmental consultants were selected through an RFQ process. Staff said additional research may require a second phase and potentially hiring the consultant; no new consultant contract or spending authorization was approved at this meeting.

The board discussed the cemetery’s historic significance, documentation, maintenance needs, and potential interpretive signage and grant opportunities. Staff also noted that a seawall project along Marine Way was scheduled for City Commission consideration in November, with work expected to begin that month; no procurement action or cost was provided. No other procurement votes or contract awards were identified.
