The Town of Bridgewater Recreation Commission met on November 2, 2026. It approved the September 14 minutes. Procurement and capital-project discussions focused on the school multiuse fields: commissioners reviewed preliminary plans for field work, irrigation and a pump enclosure, and possible tennis/pickleball court improvements. They discussed preparing an RFP through a professional firm, seeking estimates before determining project scope, and installing conduit and light bases now if feasible to avoid later excavation. The discussion referenced $5,000 for engineering, approximately $125,000 in available or potential CPC funding, and hypothetical bids ranging from $350,000 to $475,000–$500,000; no bid or contract was awarded. A sign recognizing the Little League champions is expected to be paid for from the Public Works budget, with size and location still to be determined. An ADA path quote was pending, with CPC identified as the expected funding source, and replacement of a softball backstop was also discussed as a CPC-funded project; field fencing would use previously approved capital-improvement funds. A bleacher safety inspection was scheduled, but no inspection contract amount was stated.
Commissioners also raised concerns about oversight, financial reporting, and the terms of the golf-course management contract, including an extension reportedly made while three years remained on the existing term. They discussed seeking a meeting with the Town Council president and reviewing the golf-course and food-service arrangements; no contract action was taken. The meeting included discussion of procurement thresholds and state purchasing lists, but no procurement policy change was adopted.
