The City of Fernley City Council meeting on November 5, 2026, included updates on a water-treatment-plant outage, election results, department activities, and public comments about data centers and fire-hydrant testing. The council approved the consent agenda 3–0 and approved Resolution 26-026 3–0, increasing the refundable hydrant-meter deposit from $1,600 to $3,100 to better reflect an estimated replacement cost of $3,007.60. The revised meter connection and termination form was also approved, and staff proposed reviewing the deposit annually. No contract awards or purchasing bids were discussed.
The council held the first reading of Bill 393, concerning a development agreement requested by Wedge Metals Homes LLC to extend the tentative subdivision map deadline for the 37-lot Wilson Landing project to December 31, 2028; no final action was taken on the bill. Council also announced that the Fernley Convention and Tourism Authority is accepting grant applications for tourism-related projects and events through November 30, with selections planned for December 14. Staff reported on the upcoming storm-drain master-plan open house and ongoing comprehensive-plan work. The meeting also included a report on the resolved water outage and public concerns about future water communication and hydrant testing.
