The Powhatan County Planning Commission meeting on November 4, 2026, focused on land-use matters; no procurement, contracts, or spending actions were identified. The Commission unanimously approved several additions to existing Agricultural and Forestal Districts (AFDs), including parcels of 50 acres, 35.1 acres, approximately 10.5 acres, and approximately 121.9 acres; staff said the applications together would add about 285 acres. The Commission also voted 5–0 to recommend a countywide zoning ordinance amendment removing Motorsports Park as a conditional use in the Agricultural-10 district. The use would remain eligible for a conditional use permit in light and heavy industrial districts. Public comments in support cited protecting rural character and concerns about noise, traffic, environmental effects, and county service demands.

The Commission approved moving its January and February 2027 meetings from the first to the second Tuesday of each month, to allow more time to prepare items for Board of Supervisors review. The pattern book item was deferred to the December meeting. October 6 meeting minutes were approved; no spending-related motions or actions were reported.
