The City of Solon Public Works meeting on November 4, 2026, reviewed the 2027 infrastructure program and acted on several infrastructure contracts and projects. The committee supported forwarding the proposed 2027 infrastructure budget to the Finance Committee, including a combined Miles Road resurfacing project and an increase in the concrete repair allocation to $3 million. Members unanimously approved final change orders closing out the 2025 catch basin repair contract at $204,125.30 (about $22,850 below its original value) and the 2024 asphalt repair contract at $803,658.49, with the latter’s completion date extended to March 7, 2025, due to weather. The committee also unanimously approved waiving competitive selection and renewing Burgess & Niple’s general engineering design services contract for 2027–2028, with an average rate increase of 2.9%.
