The Spanish Fork City Planning Commission met on November 4, 2026. It approved the Swinson Industrial preliminary plat, a one-lot subdivision on 61 acres near 3,800 North and 1,713 West, subject to conditions including recording needed road dedications and easements and submitting public-improvement plans with the final plat. Staff connected the site to the future Mountain View Parkway corridor. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, or procurement spending were identified.
The commission also reviewed South Valley Village, an approximately 86-acre proposal for annexation, a zone change, and two preliminary plats totaling 896 housing units, commercial parcels, park space, and a regional sewer lift station. Discussion focused on the project’s fit with the city’s new Gateway designation, proposed density and parking exceptions, and uncertainty about funding, timing, and eventual removal or realignment of the Tintic rail corridor. The commission recommended annexation by a 4–1 vote, but recommended denial of the zone change and both preliminary plats; those recommendations will go to the City Council for consideration.
