Personnel Committee - November 4, 2026

Ascension21 Personnel Committee meeting, November 4, 2026: The committee interviewed applicants for advisory roles focused on the parish’s Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) and planning. Applicants discussed responsible growth, subdivision density and connectivity, drainage and flooding, traffic and road capacity, utilities, school capacity, and balancing development with rural character. Several emphasized reviewing the parish’s master plan and aligning development with infrastructure; one applicant also raised concerns about regulatory costs and simplifying implementation procedures. These were applicant views and discussion topics, not adopted code changes or procurement actions.

After a recess and scoring, the committee identified Christopher Kayette, Donald Bailey, Roy Domain, and Scott Padgett as its top four applicants and, on a motion and second, voted to forward their names to the full council. No contract awards, bids, vendor selections, or spending decisions were identified. The committee also encouraged applicants not selected for these positions to apply for two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
