Mobile County Commission conference meeting, November 5, 2026: Commissioners reviewed a procurement- and project-heavy agenda. Items included a one-year NCT license for street-level property imagery for the Revenue Commission ($13,781.70); a Chickasaw agreement for up to $250,000 in ALDOT-provided funding; a corrected $50,000 CDBG subrecipient agreement for roof replacements; and amendments to the gas-tax budget, which would increase it to an amount transcribed as approximately $8.7 million using carryover funds. The commission also discussed funding a West Mobile County Park splash pad and playground ($2,179,724.92), noting that the remaining project work had been bid and the contract awarded, and considered a land-disturbance permit resolution needed before construction. A change order for J Hunt Enterprises’ John Archer Arena improvements would add $82,819.37, bringing the contract to $883,832.61, with no schedule change. Shoreline restoration contract amendments with Moffatt & Nichol were also listed, with costs to be reimbursed through grant funding; amounts were not stated.

Other listed purchasing actions included a one-year NYX credit-card processing agreement for Cypress Creek Golf Course; renewals for Highland Software ($296,979.55), Esri support ($21,000), EquipmentWatch ($15,700), High Seas Design House ($19,514.24), and BB’s Pest and Termite Control ($1,200); and a roughly $75,000 Escatawpa River flood study to be funded by participating property owners. A motion and second were recorded for a $1,000 District 1 sponsorship, and a motion and second were also recorded for the Highland Software renewal; the transcript does not capture vote outcomes. The commission additionally recognized voter approval of the county’s 2026 pay-as-you-go transportation improvement program, which will fund county road and bridge improvements. No new procurement policy was identified.
