Northampton County Council’s Court System and Corrections budget meeting, titled November 4, 2026 (meeting metadata is dated November 5, 2026), reviewed proposed 2027 budgets. Procurement- and contract-related items included the Sheriff’s $127,000 capital request for safety and security equipment, including body cameras and an X-ray machine update; a recently negotiated labor contract whose increase was included in the budget, with its multiyear cost to be discussed separately; and the jail’s approximately $4.4 million medical-services budget with PrimeCare, whose contract was said to run through about 2029. Court Administration also expected to carry forward $150,000 for juvenile-center camera upgrades. The DUI processing center’s lease was discussed at $30,000 annually, with utilities adding to occupancy costs and a new lease still pending approval.

The District Attorney reported $125,000 budgeted for professional services, mainly expert opinions in trials, and said the office operates 15 Flock license-plate cameras funded with drug-task-force money; additional cameras were only a possibility, not a current purchase plan. The Coroner described rising forensic and toxicology costs and noted that its forensic-pathologist contract had previously been bid. The DA also outlined a proposed opioid-fund program of about $160,000 per year for two jail-based caseworkers, subject to the applicable funding process. Members raised concerns about Greystone’s costs and care and suggested an independent review, but no review or procurement action was approved during the meeting. No contract award or spending motion was recorded; the meeting ended with a motion to adjourn, which passed.
