The Eureka Springs Historic District Commission’s regular meeting on November 4, 2026, considered certificates of appropriateness for exterior work in the historic district. The commission approved the proposed decorative iron scroll and crescent moon at 179 North Main, and approved the seating area at 180 North Main. A separate motion to approve a portable metal shed at 180 North Main failed; staff will follow up with the owners on an acceptable interim solution. The commission discussed a proposed pergola at 75 Hillside but took no vote, advising that any design brought back for review should be freestanding and made of wood. Four administrative approvals were noted as listed on the city website.

No contracts, purchases, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified. The commission also discussed preservation training and floated a possible January 2027 workshop to consider updates to its policies and bylaws, including how to address AI-related issues; no policy change was adopted.
