The City of Easton Planning Commission met on November 4, 2026. It recommended, by a 3–2 vote, approval of a special exception for a six-foot fence/wall at 277–279 West Nesquoning Street, subject to review by the Zoning Hearing Board. Discussion clarified the proposed materials and the status of an already-installed portion of vinyl fencing; zoning and building permits will still be required as applicable. No contract awards, purchases, or other procurement activity were identified.
The Commission reviewed proposed zoning and subdivision/land development ordinance amendments, including standards for data centers, warehouses and truck terminals, solar energy systems, noise, water use, and transportation impacts. Commissioners and members of the public raised concerns about data-center noise and water use, truck-trip definitions, traffic-study seasonality, potential building heights, and proposed zoning-map changes. Staff agreed to examine several issues further; the Commission unanimously tabled its recommendation to City Council pending that review. The Commission also discussed potentially adding Environmental Advisory Council and chief planner reports to future agendas.
