The November 3, 2026, Metro Nashville Board of Parks and Recreation meeting approved several donations, grants, and park-related permits. Approved items included an in-kind plaque donation valued up to $2,500; a $1,120 general donation from US Community Credit Union; a grant-supported project involving 100 native trees and educational features, with the Cumberland Park Conservancy administering $60,000 for at least two years of establishment care; and an application for a William G. Pomeroy Foundation grant for a historic marker at Two Rivers Mansion, requiring no Metro match. The board also approved an in-kind grant of up to $69,520 for Two Rivers Mansion window repairs, to be performed by restoration specialist Tim Finch and paid directly by Friends of Two Rivers, and a $10,000 in-kind public-art project at Walk of Fame Park funded by NDP. Other approvals included event permits at Two Rivers Mansion and an extension of the Croat Cafe’s short-term operating permit through June 30, 2027, including concession service and alcohol sales at approved special events.
The director reported that Metro’s proposed capital spending plan, still in Metro Council’s approval process, includes about $14.3 million for Metro Parks greenway development, system improvements, and maintenance. Staff also discussed preparations for the FY28 budget process, with an official kickoff scheduled for December 7 and departmental submissions due toward the end of January. Greenways presentations emphasized ongoing public-private partnerships, land acquisition and trail development needs, and the importance of consistent dedicated funding. No competitive bid or contract award was identified in the transcript.
