The Revere Human Rights Commission met on November 5, 2026. Members approved the June event minutes by motion and second. The main funding-related item was an application for a $4,000 River Culture Council grant to support a series of educational and cultural-awareness events for Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and Juneteenth. The grant was being sought; no award or spending approval was reported. Members also discussed the venue and organization of a past Juneteenth event, noting that speaker audibility and distractions were concerns, while food and music were well received.
The Commission discussed resources for residents affected by immigration-policy changes, including legal and “know your rights” information, possible community training, and translated print materials; members emphasized distributing resources carefully and through trusted locations. Other topics included possible social-media outreach, collaboration with the Senior Commission, and exploring a student advisory role, subject to the commission’s nine-member limit and applicable ordinance. No contracts, vendor selections, or other procurement decisions were identified.
