The City of Lake Forest Park held a community meeting on October 29, 2026, about the L90 culvert project under 185th. City staff explained that the city is responsible for replacing L90 and that the current 60% design is for a 45-foot culvert, shortened from the earlier 65-foot concept after WSDOT’s L100 project exposed additional stream habitat. Gray & Osborne is the design consultant. The project is funded primarily by grants; the city said any added roadway or intersection work would require expanding the project’s scope and budget and would depend on feasibility and city approval. Design completion is anticipated in 2027, with construction planned for 2028 at the earliest, during the fish window. No contract award, spending vote, or procurement action was taken at the meeting.

Residents’ input generally favored keeping 185th open to two-way traffic, avoiding daylighting the creek or major roadway changes, and limiting the project’s footprint. Suggestions included a pedestrian path or sidewalk, ADA-accessible improvements, safer crossings, speed reduction, and reviewing flood flows and culvert capacity. Staff gathered feedback through table exercises and a survey; these ideas were not adopted as project changes at the meeting.
