The City of Kyle Arts and Cultural Board met on October 21, 2026. The board approved the September 16 minutes, excused two members’ absences, and selected Melissa Spitz as chair and Fabiana Ruiz as vice chair. Staff reviewed the Public Art Master Plan, adopted by City Council in April 2026, and reported approximately $28,000 in the board’s budget. The board discussed an initial public-art project for traffic-control boxes, considering four installations, with at least three associated with local high schools. Members developed and approved a mission direction emphasizing student artistic talent, learning about public infrastructure, community pride, and city beautification; students would help shape the project’s vision and artwork. No contract award, vendor selection, bid approval, or specific purchase was made.
Members also discussed a possible supervised doodling activity and Arts and Cultural Board information table at the skate park’s November 7 opening, including obtaining art supplies and potentially donated stickers. Participation and event details remained to be confirmed, and no spending authorization was recorded. The board discussed future priorities, including existing art rotations, possible park and roundabout projects, partnerships, and how to plan its next year of work; no related procurement action was taken.
