The Rockport School Committee met on October 21, 2026. The committee voted to accept two donations: $500 from third-grade families to replace items damaged by a classroom water leak, and photography equipment donated by Joan Herd. It also approved the eighth-grade Washington, D.C., field trip. The superintendent said the trip is somewhat less expensive for students than last year and that fundraising and other arrangements will ensure no student is unable to attend because of cost; no total trip budget, vendor, or contract was identified. No procurement or contract award activity was reported.

Other discussion covered October enrollment, which was 29 students above projections, and a presentation on MCAS results and planned instructional improvements. During public comment, a parent asked the district to gather data on student screen use by grade and offered to work with the policy subcommittee on developmentally appropriate guidance; the committee took no action on that request during the meeting. The student representative also shared school and student activities.
