DCS BOE Meeting 11/02/2026

The Davie County Schools Board of Education meeting on November 2, 2026, approved several procurement and facilities actions, with votes passing 7–0. The board approved continuing custodial services at an elementary school with Supreme Maintenance Organization after three bids were received. For the Pinebrook Elementary roof renovation, it approved BAR Roofing’s base bid of $1,249,000 and Wolf Trail Engineering’s inspection and project services for $109,000. The lowest bidder, US Southern Construction, had withdrawn its bid; the board did not approve the $500,000 alternate roofing option. The board also approved written reciprocal facility-use agreements with Davie County Parks and Recreation and the Davie Youth Complex/Little League.

After the school nutrition department’s produce supplier, Foster Caviness, announced it was going out of business, the board authorized Davie County Schools, as part of the Foothills Co-op, to evaluate proposals and select a replacement vendor under an RFP. Proposals had been distributed to four vendors and were scheduled to be opened later that week; no vendor or award amount was determined at this meeting. Other business included approval of graduation dates and discussion of proposed school calendars. A $5,000 state grant for South Davie Middle School was noted, but no related purchasing decision was presented.
