The Village of Buffalo Grove Board’s regular meeting on November 2, 2026 included approval of Warrant 1400 for $2,379,777.16. The Board also approved Ordinance 2026-101 authorizing a purchase from Air1 Equipment, the regional sole-source vendor for MSA equipment, of replacement fire-department self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). The purchase is not to exceed $659,678, including an $8,000 contingency, and is below the $670,000 capital budget; the stated price includes $74,340 in promotional savings. The purchase will use the Illinois Governmental Joint Purchasing Act, and the motion carried. The consent agenda was also approved, including sewer utility fee updates, sign-code variations, Bernard Drive construction engineering, and a license agreement with Frequency Foundry Inc.

Staff presented a Safe Routes to School assessment covering four Buffalo Grove schools. The study cost the Village no more than $30,000, supported by Invest in Cook funding, and identified potential safety projects with preliminary estimates including $8,000 for parking changes, $46,000 for a crosswalk, and about $713,000 for a sidewalk connection. Staff said it would prioritize lower-cost work and pursue grants and coordination with Cook County and IDOT for larger projects; the assessment itself did not authorize construction. The Board also considered Ordinance 2026-102 to approve a sixth amendment and authorize closing on the previously approved $6.25 million acquisition of 1100 West Lake Cook Road for a combined police and Village Hall facility. Members debated the purchase and its projected future costs, but the transcript ends before the vote is recorded. A draft FY2027 budget was announced as available online, with a public hearing to follow.
