The City of Tyler Planning and Zoning Commission met on November 3, 2026, to consider zoning and site-plan cases and make recommendations to City Council. The commission approved multiple residential, commercial, and mixed-use requests, including rezoning for housing near the Northwest Loop (Z26-034), a church daycare and family life center (PD26-020), an office site plan (PD26-021), a 51-acre mixed-use development (PD26-024), and several residential zoning changes (Z26-030, Z26-031, PD26-023, and Z26-032). The 12-townhome proposal in PD26-023 drew concerns about traffic, parking, drainage, and noise; the meeting record indicates the motion passed. A proposal for 1,152 multifamily units (PD26-022) was tabled for 30 days at staff’s recommendation to allow additional review.
These were land-use and development decisions; no procurement activity, contract awards, purchasing decisions, or spending allocations were identified. Approved items are recommendations to City Council, which makes the final decisions. One commissioner abstained on PD26-024.
