11.2.26 Regular Board Meeting

The Sequim School District regular board meeting was held November 3, 2026. The board unanimously approved a resolution for the Helen Haller Elementary replacement project using “new in lieu” construction language requested by OSPI to release several million dollars in state SCAP funding. The discussion also referenced the district’s approximately $146 million high school bond project. Public commenters—including students, parents, and community members—asked the district to reconsider plans for a shared band and choir space and raised concerns about off-campus music instruction, project transparency, and bond oversight; no change to the design was approved at this meeting.

The board also unanimously approved Policy 6505 on security and Resolution 05-2627 establishing a district key standard using the Schlage Primus keyway. The HR report said the district adopted Cumulative for applicant tracking and onboarding, replacing a previously purchased Neoed service that cost more than $20,000; no new contract award or savings amount was specified. The board also unanimously approved the 2027–28 and 2028–29 academic calendars and a three-year conference waiver.
