At the November 3, 2026, City of Alamogordo regular commission meeting, procurement and project updates included the aquatic center project, for which at least five general contractors were reviewing the bid documents. The city was preparing responses to 79 bidder questions, with bid opening scheduled for December 15; no award was made. The city manager also reported that the golf course contractor agreement was in final legal review, with the transition expected to begin December 1 or January 1. BASE Otero Community Youth Center reported an annual budget of about $900,000, the purchase of two youth-transportation vans, and a planned renovation to add a multipurpose room and staff training area; no renovation cost was stated.

The commission unanimously approved Resolution 2026-36, declaring an emergency due to continuing flooding, erosion, sedimentation, and debris impacts at Bonita Lake Watershed and Reservoir. The declaration is intended to make the city eligible to seek outside funding for continued excavation and more permanent sedimentation-control and restoration work; officials said local funds were being exhausted, and no funding award was reported. The city manager also described a change in utility-work practice: utility crews will complete street and pavement restoration before leaving a project site, allowing the street department to focus on other roadway repairs.
