The City of Fort Lauderdale Infrastructure Advisory Board met on November 2, 2026. Procurement and capital-project updates included the 60-inch wastewater force main replacing the existing 52-inch line: materials were being ordered, with the connection to the GTL plant expected in December and a planned two-day bypass. Staff also described replacing water-service saddles with stainless-steel components in saltwater-affected areas, and ongoing capital improvements to lift stations. Emergency repairs are absorbed within regular maintenance budgets. The board received an update on the sidewalk master plan, which the Commission endorsed earlier in the year: staff is onboarding on-call engineering consultants to assess and design projects, with an initial 38 miles of priority sidewalks identified and annual construction planned subject to available funding. The Prospect Lake water-treatment facility, described as a roughly two-thirds-of-a-billion-dollar project delivered through a design-build partnership, began operating in September; city staff operate it around the clock.

The board discussed whether the City should explore financial partnerships to help waterfront property owners raise private seawalls, but deferred further consideration of the proposed communication to the Commission; no spending or procurement motion was approved. No contract awards or vendor selections were made at this meeting. The board also discussed sea-level-rise planning, flood readiness, stormwater infrastructure, wastewater overflows, and odor controls. The meeting transcript identifies no new procurement approvals or specific contract amounts beyond the stated project-scale estimate for Prospect Lake.
