At the November 2, 2026 East Peoria City Council meeting, members approved the consent agenda, which included procurement actions for city facilities and departments. These included accepting the lowest responsible bid from Illinois Mechanical Service and Design LLC for a humidifier replacement at the Centennial Water Treatment Plant; approving a Laser Electric proposal for Centennial Drive intersection work; purchasing a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado and Tahoe from Kelly Automotive Group for the Fire Department; and approving an Electric Pump, Inc. proposal for the National Lift Station pump replacement. The agenda also included a Ventrac mower tractor purchase for Tourism and Special Events. The consent agenda passed on a roll-call vote, with all members voting in favor according to the transcript.

The council also advanced several spending and contract items for further consideration. It considered a one-year extension of the city-facilities cleaning contract with PHD Services, with the company agreeing to hold prices steady despite the addition of the new police station; renewed insurance coverage with stated premiums of $891,720 for property, casualty, and liability coverage and $294,355 for workers’ compensation (a $1,186,075 total); and introduced the annual street-maintenance program, with at least $1 million in Motor Fuel Tax funds and an early-bidding strategy intended to secure favorable pricing. These items were presented for first reading and laid over for public inspection rather than finally adopted at this meeting. The council also introduced an animal and rabies control agreement with Tazewell County at an annual cost of $37,731.33. A commissioner said they would explore potential future restrictions on PVC and CPVC materials in potable-water plumbing; no such change was adopted.
