The East Peoria City Council’s regular meeting on November 2, 2026, approved the consent agenda unanimously, including payment of $1,455,826.73 in scheduled bills and several procurement actions. The council accepted the lowest responsible bid from Illinois Mechanical Service and Design LLC for a humidifier replacement at the Centennial Water Treatment Plant; approved a traffic-signal upgrade proposal from Laser Electric; authorized the Fire Department to purchase a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado and Tahoe from Kelly Automotive Group; and approved Electric Pump Inc. proposals for pump replacements at the National and Moshell lift stations. The council also approved renewal of city insurance coverage through ICRMT: $891,720 for property, casualty, and liability coverage and $294,355 for workers’ compensation, totaling $1,186,075—an overall increase of 12.5%. It approved a one-year extension of the city’s facilities-cleaning contract with PHD at current-year prices.

The council advanced several other spending-related items on first reading for future consideration: a $1 million allocation of Motor Fuel Tax funds for 2027 street maintenance, an annual Tazewell County animal and rabies control agreement costing $37,731.33, and the facilities-cleaning extension. The council also considered annual special-service-area tax levies for water-system and access-road improvements. Separately, it adopted a liquor-code amendment establishing a license class for coffee shops that sell alcohol, prohibiting video gaming at those businesses, and clarifying tavern and Class A license provisions.
