The Snoqualmie City Council’s August 24, 2026 regular meeting (following a special roundtable) approved a 2026–2028 collective bargaining agreement with the IAFF, replacing the 2022–2025 agreement. The agreement sets compensation, retention and education incentives, and other work conditions; it passed unanimously. Council also approved a temporary noise-code waiver for Snoqualmie Valley Hospital’s improvements at the Southeast 99th Street and Snoqualmie Parkway intersection, for up to 31 days. An amendment requires notice to residents within 1,000 feet before construction begins.

The mayor presented a proposal to establish a procurement and contracts analyst position to review purchasing authority, contract terms and amendments, and spending against contract limits. No hiring or appropriation action was taken; council requested further information on workload, costs, potential savings, and implementation of the city’s Tyler software. The discussion cited a prior $3.2 million commitment to Tyler and noted that contract-management functionality remains incompletely implemented. Members expressed concern about adding ongoing costs amid budget pressures and suggested considering the issue during budget deliberations. Separately, Burke Consulting presented preliminary comprehensive-plan and zoning analyses related to housing targets, potential annexation areas, and eligibility for future grants; no zoning or procurement decision was made.
