The Sedro-Woolley Planning Commission met on October 20, 2026, and considered code amendments affecting permitting and development standards. Following a public hearing, the commission approved amendments to the consolidated planning procedures, including allowing a second six-month building-permit extension subject to a fee to be determined later; staff noted that a related master fee schedule update would be needed. Commissioners also discussed the existing $100 permit-renewal fee. The commission recommended that the City Council approve Title 15 and 17 and design-guideline amendments, including reducing the minimum glazing requirement for residential structures to 15% and removing a 10% valuation footnote for recreation-area elements. The glazing and footnote changes were included in the motion, which passed unanimously.

The commission began its review of proposed critical-areas regulations, discussing technical review, exemptions, buffers, and how code changes may affect existing or pending development. Because of the volume and complexity of the material, it postponed further review until a special meeting on November 12. The meeting also included an update on a planning commission vacancy and possible commissioner training. No contracts, vendor selections, or other procurement activity were identified.
