The City of Meridian Transportation Commission met on November 2, 2026. Procurement and capital-project updates included ACHD’s announcement that it planned to award the Franklin–McDermott bid to Black Cat Construction at its commission meeting that week; the award was not voted on at this meeting. ITD reported ongoing construction on State Highway 16, with the I-84-to-US 20/26 segment targeted to open by next summer, subject to remaining interchange, paving, and bridge work. A Boise City Build grant of about $7 million is funding design work for the Lake Hazel corridor extension toward Eisenman; the corridor’s initial segment is now included in ACHD’s five-year capital plan for 2029, with impact fees identified as a potential funding source for eligible costs.

The commission also heard that ITD had completed the South Ada–Canyon County connectivity study and was working to advertise an RFP for follow-on State Highway 16 connectivity work. No procurement awards or spending motions were approved by the commission. Other discussion focused on downtown Meridian traffic and pedestrian safety near schools, including a request for ACHD to review traffic-control devices and visibility, and a school-route crossing plan that includes a planned Pine Street beacon in March 2027.
