The Monroe Board of Education met on November 2, 2026. The Facilities Planning Committee reported that it had issued RFQs for the Truck Hill project and roof work at Monroe Elementary and Jockey Hollow. The committee planned to review the Truck Hill RFQ on November 4, notify potential interviewees November 5, conduct interviews around November 10, and notify vendors of a selection by November 12; no vendor award was made at this meeting. The committee is also considering whether the projects require both a construction manager and an owner’s project manager. A curriculum presentation proposed 25 six-year subscriptions for updated AP Spanish materials, along with curriculum-writing hours, but this was a first review and no purchase approval was recorded. The board also approved a successor collective bargaining agreement with the administrators’ union for July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030; no contract value was stated.

The special education financial report noted $250,000 encumbered or spent for outside agencies and another $211,000 encumbered for transportation, with those lines described as fully committed for known needs. The report also cited $42,000 in legal fees since July and $59,000 for independent evaluations, with concerns raised about the potential for further costs. The board approved policies on restrictions for electric personal mobility devices and on credit for college-hosted coursework. No other procurement awards or purchasing approvals were identified.
