At the November 3, 2026 Henry County Board of Commissioners meeting, the board approved a $50,000 donation from Georgia Power for utility assistance to residents facing financial hardship. The consent agenda was approved with a capital-project item removed: it included a $552,696.12 Judicial Annex expenditure through a state/TIPS contract; an award of RFQ 27-08 for annual on-call materials and field-testing services to NOVA Engineering and Atlas Technical Consultants; a $50,000 budget amendment for the Burge Road Improvements Project; a $230,340 Kimley-Horn supplemental agreement for design work on the Bill Gardner Parkway widening; right-of-way and easement acquisition for Fairview Road Phase 2; and a landfill groundwater and methane monitoring contract with Advanced Environmental Management, Inc., capped at $28,195 annually. The proposed $68,534 Garland DBS roof-replacement item was removed from the consent agenda, and no later approval is recorded in the transcript.

The board also approved acquisition of a permanent stormwater easement needed to replace damaged drainage infrastructure. Staff and Gresham Smith presented the Henry County Freight Cluster Plan, an 18-month transportation-planning study focused on freight movement, safety, access, and potential projects and funding sources; no study contract value was stated. The board approved a rezoning and special-use request for a proposed 35-lot conservation subdivision, and made appointments and approved the 2027 meeting schedule.
