The Village of Lisle Committee of the Whole discussed the Main Street Streetscape project on November 2, 2026. Staff presented a revised design featuring parallel parking on the west side, expanded pedestrian and public-use space, replacement street trees with soil cells, and improved brick-paver drainage and support. The current construction estimate is approximately $7 million, compared with an earlier estimate of $4.5–5 million; staff attributed roughly $1.5–2 million of the difference to new street lighting and electrical infrastructure. No contract was awarded and no formal vote was taken on the design, but trustees expressed consensus to proceed. Staff said a design contract of about $85,000 would go to a future Village Board agenda, followed by a likely construction-engineering agreement amendment of approximately $40,000 in early 2027. The project is expected to go out to bid in mid-to-late January, with phased construction beginning around mid-March.
