Lewiston Public Schools School Committee meeting, November 2, 2026. The committee voted 5–0 to approve submitting two applications to the Public School Districts Opioid Recovery Trust, each requesting the maximum $500,000 for a three-year period (up to $1 million total). The proposed projects are the Lewiston Community Coach Corps, which would expand enrichment and community-partner programs for students, and an initiative to expand services and family support for young learners affected by opioid use. Applications are due November 15, 2026, with awards expected in April; committee members requested an opportunity to review the budgets before submission. No contracts or vendor awards were considered.

The committee also reviewed school reports on academics, attendance, student behavior, and support programs. On policies, a motion to pass policy BDE as written failed 4–1 because five affirmative votes were required; the policy will return for further consideration. The remaining policies on the agenda passed 5–0. The superintendent also noted review of federal guidance that could restrict student surveys involving personal information without written parental consent.
