The Jamestown Public School Board met November 2, 2026. Procurement-related discussion focused on a possible purchase of district-owned buses for activities, field trips, and other transportation needs. The superintendent reported that preliminary analysis identified potential savings and that further options would be reviewed, with a more detailed proposal expected to go to the Finance Committee; no purchase was approved at this meeting. The board also unanimously approved a motion authorizing the district to develop partners and a heavy-equipment technical-skills grant application and submit it when funding becomes available. The grant, partnerships, and matching funds are not yet established, and no dollar amount was provided.
The board reviewed, for information, a draft dual-credit MOU with the University of Jamestown; it was not approved. The superintendent noted that dual-credit costs are generally about $80 per credit when taught by district instructors and about $160 per credit when taught by a university professor. The board also approved a student travel study program to Germany for June 2027, with district financial commitments discussed but no amount stated. Other actions included approval of the consent agenda, the second reading of a computer-software policy, tuition agreements with Montpelier, and satisfactory ratings in all six sections of the superintendent’s formative evaluation.
