City of Fairhope Planning Commission Meeting November 2nd, 2026

The City of Fairhope Planning and Zoning Commission met on November 2, 2026. No procurement, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified. The Commission unanimously approved the Middle Street Estates administrative replat (SD 26.20) subject to staff conditions, a hydrologic study evaluating options to direct sheet flow toward Middle Street, and an extension from 120 to 240 days to record the plat. For a 12.6-acre Fortis Company property, it voted 6–1 to recommend rezoning from RA to R1; the City Council will make the final decision. Residents raised concerns about drainage, traffic, neighborhood character, and potential street connections, which staff said would be reviewed in detail if a future subdivision application is submitted.
