King George County Board of Supervisors meeting — November 2, 2026. The board received a presentation on Virginia’s Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) as an alternative way to deliver capital projects. Supervisors supported having the administration and county attorney review and update draft PPEA guidelines, then return them to the board for public review and a decision; no guidelines or project were approved at this meeting. The board also approved debt-refunding documents following a solicitation that received eight responses for one financing component and two for another. Atlantic Union Bank’s proposal was recommended for its all-in cost and ability to prepay without penalty. The restructuring concerns county debt including middle-school bonds, the radio system, and equipment leases, and is intended to ease near-term budget pressure while preserving investment funds.

Staff presented the results of RFP 0616-2026-1400 for architectural and engineering services for the new CTE school building: 10 proposals were evaluated, and RRMM was selected as the top-ranked firm after interviews, with a negotiated fee of $1,749,421. The item was informational, and no award vote was recorded. The board also reached consensus for staff to work with Big Dreams Hauling, a VDOT snow-removal contractor, on potential county or school property for safer truck staging. Separately, supervisors supported spending to make the former historic school usable for the gymnastics program, including an estimated $4,000 HVAC motor and $500–$1,000 installation, plus other safety and repair work. A resident called for cancellation of the county’s automated license plate reader contracts, but the board took no action on that request.
