Roscommon County Commissioners regular meeting and budget work session, October 28, 2026. The board approved airport sponsor agreements associated with MIIGA Agreement No. 2026-0861 and grant No. 3-26-0046-28226; $7,813 was budgeted for the county’s required contribution. Commissioners also authorized the chairperson to execute the airport sponsor contracts. The board approved a resolution authorizing the Lake St. Helen control-structure replacement project based on a design by Spicer Group, Inc., and permitting Spicer to submit an application to Michigan EGLE. The resolution also authorized an assessment hearing and annual project-related expenditures over $10,000, with eligible costs to be reimbursed by the lake-level special assessment district. No project cost or Spicer contract amount was stated. The board also approved the 2026 taxable-value and millage apportionment documents and directed the assessing officers to spread the approved rates.

The 2027 budget remained under review; no final budget vote was taken. Discussion included a proposed $100,000 transfer to the capital improvements fund, proposed staffing and compensation items, and a request for an additional $14,356.25 for Northern Lakes Community Mental Health, which commissioners deferred pending further information and regional discussions. A special budget meeting was tentatively scheduled for November 13.
