The City of Rockford City Council meeting was held November 2, 2026. The council approved finance and personnel items including vouchers totaling $15,281,771.42; a $30,000 noncompetitive contract with S&I Solutions for anti-de-icing liquid through May 31, 2027, with two possible one-year extensions; and a two-year, $264,000 architectural and construction-administration agreement with Larson & Darby for renovations and an addition at Fire Station 10, funded from a reallocation of 2022 budget surplus funds. The council also approved placing city-owned property at 2326 Star Street for sale and authorized the central services manager to contract with the lowest overall-cost supplier for street-lighting and well-pumping electricity for up to three years. The finance items were approved by roll-call vote.

The council referred proposals for a business association funding program and business and microenterprise advancement programs to the Planning and Development Committee; these were not decided at this meeting. It proclaimed November 27 as Plaid Friday to encourage support for local independent retailers. Other actions included approval of event and council-calendar items, zoning and licensing ordinances, and annexation of two parcels associated with a renewable-energy contract. An auto-body-shop special-use item was laid over. The council voted to enter closed session to discuss pending or threatened litigation.
