Larimer County Board of County Commissioners work session on Community Planning, Infrastructure & Resources, November 2, 2026, focused primarily on transportation capital projects, their schedules, funding, and community impacts. On Owl Canyon Road, the county reported that the $5 million County Road 70 segment between County Roads 11 and 13 had been bid and awarded, with construction expected to begin soon; funding includes a $1 million Multimodal Options Fund grant. The next mile, estimated at $9 million, is county-funded and in design. A related roundabout and bridge project has a $5 million construction budget, including a $760,000 grant, with an additional $1–$1.5 million in grant funding expected to be pursued in 2027. Country Club Road is in design, supported by a nearly $1.2 million federal design grant; construction estimates are $4 million for the first phase and $7 million for phases two through four. The Taft Hill Road project, delivered by Fort Collins with county participation, received bids the prior week; officials expected to complete bidding and move toward contract award within about two weeks. It has $6.1 million in grant funding, alongside county regional road fee and city contributions, and construction is anticipated in early 2027.
Other project updates included the County Road 63E/Lindbergh Bridge feasibility study, funded in part by a $64,000 federal grant, with the study estimated at $121,000 and a future replacement project estimated at about $9 million; the county has applied for implementation grants. The Little Beaver Bridge replacement has an estimated $1.7 million construction cost, including a $600,000 Forest Service contribution, and was expected to go out to bid during November. Highway Safety Improvement Program grants are supporting guardrail work and shoulder widening on Bingham Hill, though no amounts were provided. No formal votes were reported; the Owl Canyon segment was already awarded, while the Taft project’s contract award remained pending. Officials also emphasized pursuing grants and coordinating with partner agencies to leverage county funding. A separate update highlighted a regional planning dashboard developed through an internship; no procurement activity was identified in that update.
