The City of Juneau utility meeting on November 2, 2026, approved the prior meeting minutes, vouchers and checks, updated job descriptions, and the utility budget. Members also approved 2026 donations, including $250 for Shop with Cops and $1,000 for the historical society’s utility costs; the discussion also included a $1,000 contribution toward the recreation department’s Wild Goose Park storage building. The remaining donation balance was discussed as available for future utility branding. The utility reported Public Service Commission approval of a water-rate increase effective December 1, with customer notice provided.

Procurement and capital discussions included starting work on a scope of work and competitive bid advertisement to pull and inspect Well No. 1 and obtain rehabilitation services. Staff said the work would likely cost more than the previously discussed estimate of roughly $30,000, and explained that bidding would help establish fair pricing. The budget discussion covered approximately $529,000 in water funds and nearly $700,000 in wastewater replacement-fund resources, subject to approval for use. Members also discussed aging electric meters and deferred a broader replacement decision, citing a low failure rate and ongoing technology and supply-chain issues. No contract award was made.
