The Pennridge School District’s Student Services, Policy, and Curriculum committee meetings were held November 2, 2026. Student Services heard proposals for two overnight student trips: the varsity cheerleading trip to Florida, estimated at $1,560 per athlete before fundraising and family assistance, and a choir student’s participation in an April 2027 festival in Rhode Island, estimated at $600 from the music-festival budget. The committee also received an update on middle-school consolidation planning, including facility reviews with district engineering consultant ICX and reengagement of Pell under a contract approved at a prior board meeting; possible renewed work with transportation consultant Transfinder was discussed, but no new contract action was taken. The committee reviewed survey feedback and working-group progress, with an update planned for November 16 and further work continuing through November and December.

In Curriculum, staff presented a proposed Environmental Systems course for ninth graders, with estimated initial equipment costs of $4,000–$4,200 and annual costs of $1,000–$1,500, mainly for water-testing kits; board consideration was expected in December. Staff also recommended early adoption of Being a Reader in grades K–2 at an estimated $7,265 from existing budgets, followed by full implementation in 2027–28 estimated at $197,559; this proposal was also to go to the board for action, with no committee vote recorded. Policy discussion included second-reading review of the bullying policy and a new virtual-attendance/wellness-check policy, as well as revisions to the school wellness policy. A community member requested a broader review of educational technology and a parent-inclusive advisory committee, but no action was recorded. No procurement awards or spending motions were approved during the meetings.
