The City of Sweetwater Mayor and Board of Commissioners held their regular monthly meeting on November 2, 2026. The board approved the September distribution report, which included major payments for a fire-truck note ($76,630.80), the community center project ($133,000 for pay application 1, plus $7,129.99 for architectural services), street paving ($130,623.33), and city utilities ($483,557.12). Other reported spending included $50,000 to Retail Strategies for retail recruitment, $23,323.75 for sidewalk and TAP-grant engineering, and payments related to the salt shed, pool chemicals, fire-hall painting, and the garbage contract ($26,546.62). The board also approved a grant through PE Partners and police and fire salary supplements that the city expects to seek reimbursement for from the state.

Public comments focused on the city’s Flock license-plate camera system, including privacy, access controls, alleged misuse, and whether to renew the contract in 2027. Supporters cited public-safety and missing-person cases; the city attorney said that, in his opinion, the current use is lawful while relevant court cases and possible state legislation remain pending. No vote or action on the cameras was recorded. The board also approved the on-premises beer application for Zach’s Sports Bar and Grill; other agenda actions concerned ordinances and appointments, rather than procurement.
