The North Haven Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission’s regular meeting on October 28, 2026, considered wetland findings and permits for development projects. The commission reviewed an independent soil scientist’s report for 300 Elm Street, which found no inland wetlands or watercourses in the area investigated, and discussed engineering comments on stormwater storage and drainage. For a separate large development application, members discussed construction security of approximately $715,000, erosion-control inspections, phased construction, wetlands mitigation and monitoring, and a dog-waste management plan. The commission unanimously approved that application with conditions, including five years of renewable invasive-species monitoring and submission of as-built plans before bond release.

The commission also unanimously approved a permit for a tear-down and rebuild of a single-family home at 401 Ives Street. The proposal includes stormwater infiltration chambers and no direct wetland impacts; conditions included moving the propane tanks away from the wetland review area and complying with applicable town comments. No contract awards, vendor selections, or municipal purchasing decisions were identified; the bond amounts discussed were financial assurances tied to development permits.
