The Centerville City Schools Board of Education regular meeting on October 26, 2026, included discussion of the district’s Build Our Strong facilities-planning process with SHP. Working groups are narrowing preschool-through-12th-grade building configurations, including potential renovations, new construction, and reducing the number of buildings; the board discussed possible future operating savings but made no project or contract award. Cost information from OFCC, based on engineers’ project materials due October 31, was expected in early November to help compare proposed work with the cost of maintaining existing facilities. The board also approved a 13% increase in health-insurance premiums for calendar year 2027. The district reported its self-funded plan was running at about 99.3% of budget and had approximately $2.3 million in insurance reserves; it has reviewed other carriers but plans further employee education before considering a carrier change.
The board unanimously approved September financial statements and purchase orders totaling $38,761.82, as well as meeting minutes, personnel items, and other routine resolutions. It adopted the existing state special-education policies and procedures without changes. No facilities construction contract, vendor selection, or capital-project spending authorization was approved at this meeting.
