The City of Englewood City Council’s regular meeting on November 2, 2026, included procurement and budget actions. Council approved Budget Supplemental No. 24 for 2026 by a 6–0 vote: $148,000 for IT expenses, including late GovOS invoices and higher VMware and firewall/network maintenance costs, and approximately $2.5 million for the stormwater drainage fund. The stormwater amount includes about $1.189 million for the Old Hampton utilities project and $1.343 million as the stormwater fund’s allocated share of improvements at the Allen plant and service center. Council members raised concerns about vendor oversight and the allocation of stormwater fees to building projects. Council also approved, 6–0, a Victims of Crime Act grant renewal to fund a part-time police victim advocate; no grant amount was stated. Council Bill 47, authorizing a city review process and potential fee for CDOT access permits, also passed 6–0.
The Finance Director reported that the city’s audit-services RFP, issued in late July, received only one proposal—from the incumbent firm, which had served for seven years, the maximum period before rebidding under current policy. With an auditor needed under contract by the end of November, council discussed proceeding with the incumbent for another year while improving outreach and starting earlier next cycle; no selection or award was made, and the issue was deferred to council members’ choice the following week. Council tabled, by a 6–0 vote, a resolution to continue exploring formation of a South Platte Renew authority, requesting further information on comparable authorities, the original intercity agreement, asset-transfer options, and related liabilities. On the comprehensive plan, members generally favored a limited approach or postponing a broader update, with further discussion anticipated in 2027.
